EX-NMRFC Junior Joe Heyes explains why rugby is the sport for him

In this week's edition of The Rugby Paper, Nick Cain interviews ex-NMRFC Junior Joe Heyes and finds out why rugby is the sport for him.

In particular, Joe shares his love for the all-shapes-and-sizes culture in rugby union. This was especially important to Joe when he arrived at Nottingham Moderns at 14, as Joe was 15 stone (100kg) by the time he was 11.

In the article, Joe comments that "when I arrived at Moderns, I found it was a club in which people were all shapes and sizes. Rugby Union is a very open sport, and whether you are really tall or really short, you will be welcomed all the same."

He went on to say "One of the things I love most about the game is that you get such a mix of people. It's brilliant".

We couldn't agree more with Joe.

So, if you fancy playing rugby, come along to Nottingham Moderns RFC. We will welcome you with open arms whatever size, shape, sex or age you are.

Senior training is Tuesday nights, Junior training is Sunday mornings (10.30 to 12) with our Girls training on Thursday nights and Sunday morning.
