For those that do not know, Doug Scott was the first Englishman to climb Mt Everest. He also happens to be one of the instrumental members involved in setting up Nottingham Moderns RFC in 1956. Our Doug Scott Memorial Fund (DSMF) supports recruitment and retention of young players within the local community and beyond. This includes those juniors who transition to senior rugby and any students that we recruit each year from NTU and UoN. The fundraiser aims to get the DSMF to £8849 which is the height of Everest in metres.

The event will take place on 31st March at the University of Nottingham, who have kindly allowed us to use their climbing wall for the day. We are asking members to do a sponsored climb and raise £48 each. If you'd like more information please email Jeff Mapp at jeffrey.mapp@nottingham.ac.uk.
