For auction: framed rugby shirt signed by England World Cup squad

At Nottingham Moderns RFC’s Sportsman’s Dinner on Thursday 28 November, we will auction a genuine framed rugby shirt, signed by the England World Cup squad.

Including a certificate of authenticity signed by Eddie Jones, the shirt is signed by the 2019/20 England squad, including at least 20 of the 23 players who played in the 2019 World Cup Final.

To secure this piece of sporting history, you can either:
1. Come along to the Sportsman’s Dinner and participate in the auction – see details of the event below; or
2. Submit an email bid prior to the dinner – this email must be sent to Neil Highfield (nphighfield@hotmail.co.uk) by midday on Thursday 28 November

If you would like to come along to our Sportsman’s Dinner, the details are as follows:
Date: Thursday 28 October
Time: 7pm for 7.30pm
Location: Crowne Plaza, Nottingham

Our special guests this year will be:
• Alastair Kellock – ex-Scotland and Glasgow Warriors captain; and
• John Lowry, comedian

For club members, tickets are available at a cost of £38 for a 3 course meal, coffee and discounted beer and lager.

Alongside the opportunity to bid for the signed England World Cup shirt, you will also have the opportunity to participate in our fundraising raffle with the chance to win 2 tickets for one of England’s 2020 Six Nations matches (against either Wales or Ireland).

Auction Terms and Conditions
Rules for auction of signed England rugby shirt (to be held at Nottingham Moderns RFC’s Sportsman’s Dinner on Thursday 28 November 2019 (the “Auction Date”))

1. By submitting a bid (either sealed or in person) in Nottingham Moderns RFC’s England rugby shirt (“the Item”) auction, each bidder agrees to these auction rules.

2. All sealed bids must be submitted either by email to Neil Highfield (nphighfield@hotmail.co.uk) by midday on the Auction Date or delivered by hand to Neil Highfield by 8pm on the Auction Date. Sealed bids must include the maximum amount the bidder is bidding, any incremental bids the bidder wants to submit and full contact details (including name, email and phone number).

3. The Item will be sold to the highest bidder at close of the live auction on the Auction Date. In the event the highest bid is submitted is from a sealed bid, the bidder will be contacted on Friday 29 November 2019 to arrange payment (see 5 below for payment options).

4. Sale of the Item will be final. There will be no exchanges or refunds unless otherwise noted. The Item is sold “as is.” Nottingham Moderns RFC has attempted to describe and catalogue the Item correctly, but neither warrants nor represents and in no event shall be responsible for the correctness of descriptions, genuineness, authorship, provenance or condition of the Item. No statement made in this communication, or made orally at the auction or elsewhere, shall be deemed such a warranty, representation, or assumption of liability.

5. Payment for the Item must be made in full within 5 business days of the auction. In the event payment is not received within 5 business days, the Item will be sold to the second highest bidder and so on until the Item is sold. Nottingham Moderns RFC accepts cash, MasterCard, Visa, or a cheque made payable to “Nottingham Moderns RFC”.

6. Following receipt of payment, you may collect the Item from Nottingham Moderns RFC. Arrangements for collection must be made with Stuart Grantham (email: stuartgrantham@hsbc.com; mobile: 07827 354425)

7. In the event that the Item is left unclaimed for more than 30 business days, without prior arrangements, the Item will be sold and proceeds will go to Nottingham Moderns RFC.

8. Nottingham Moderns RFC reserves the right to withdraw the Item, without notice, from the auction prior to 9pm on the Auction Date.

9. Each person bidding assumes all risks and hazards related to the auction and the Item obtained at the auction. Each bidder agrees to hold harmless from any liability arising indirectly from Nottingham Moderns RFC, their elected and appointed officials, members and employees, the auctioneer(s), the auction company and its agents and employees, the event organizers, sponsors, and/or volunteers connected with the auction.
